Hi-Rez has recently released another patch for Paladins. This time it’s called Forest’s Call. The two biggest takeaways from this update are a new champion Willo and FINALLY a new Siege map called Brightmarsh. I don’t know about you guys but I have been waiting for a new map for quite a while now and finally got my wish! As always I will post the full patch notes below in a link.
Breakdown of Willo and my thoughts
Willo is a Damaged based character. Her moves include:
Wand of Overgrowth – Fire a blast of Fae energy that deals 500 damage every 0.75 seconds.
Dead Zone – Fire out a toxic spore that prevents all healing in an area for 4s. Enemies affected by the spore that move out of the infested area cannot heal for 2s.
Seedling – Toss a seed that explodes after a 1 second fuse, dealing 500 damage and spawning 4 additional seeds that each explode for 500 damage after 1 second. (This is by far her best move.)
Flutter – Quickly flutter your wings and propel yourself forwards and upwards.
Fae Flight (ULT) – Harness the power of the Fae and take to the sky for 10 seconds.
Final thought – Willo in my opinion is not the best. She is extremely squishy and dies very quickly. If you don’t surprise the enemy or stay on the back lines, you will find yourself dying a lot. Her cooldowns are rather high for her moves. Her best move is Seedling, which can be powered up with one of her legendary cards “Scorn”. This is the one I recommend using. Her Ultimate is forgettable. She flies in the air for 10 seconds. That’s it. Nothing else happens, other than giving you an advantage point from above. I was hoping for either a longer flight time or maybe some damage reduction while you’re in the air since you are “Harnessing the power of the Fae” but nope, maybe in future patch updates.
Did you try her out yet? What are your thoughts?
Willo – 6/10
Brightmarsh map – 9/10
