Dead Cells is a game that keeps you wanting to come back for more. With its enchanting atmosphere, solid design it is honestly a simply fantastic game. You play as a blob of cells that’s tickled its way into a dead headless solider. While running around the first few rounds and dying because I am atrocious at combat, I found myself in a new layout of the dungeon that felt familiar but different. The changing effect of the enemy placement as well as different map start points, makes for a great replay ability. Also, doesn’t make being thrown back to the start feel like a hindrance.
It’s hard to do pixel art well, but Dead Cells does it, and they do it beautifully. Before I knew it, I had played over an hour and the energy of the overall game kept me playing more. Its controls are responsive, clean and effortless. It’s hard to believe that it’s an early access game and that it’s so flawlessly put together. We’re excited to see what else they may add to it and potentially be across all platforms (we’re looking at you Nintendo Switch). Check out some screenshots below and let us know what you think!
