When I woke up this morning I was expecting the same old boring news in the world; nothing new and exciting till the holidays. Then I read an article from Variety about Tomorrow Studios, ITV Studios, and Sunrise (one of my favorite Japanese animation studios of all time) were teaming up to bring Cowboy Bebop to life. I have never dreamed of such a fear ever happening to the anime. There was always a looming doubt that the characters could persona, character development, and even kick ass combat skills could never be replicated in real life without CGI being involved. Alas I digress, that was ten years ago, this is 2017, things are way different. Which is why I am very excited to see such an amazing anime get the proper screenwriter treatment. Christopher Yost, writer of Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnorok is said to be on board with the project.
All on all this is very exciting news yet scary at the same time. With recent animes heading in the live action direction I’m very weary about how it will turn out. Now who can fit the parts of Spike Spiegel and Vicious? More importantly Ed and her weirdness is going to be a very hard part to cast for.
