Bethesda unveiled more on its upcoming Fallout game, Fallout 76. The game as previously speculated, is an online multi-player attempt at the series. Up to 4 players will be able to tackle the Wasteland together; however, players can choose to go it alone if they wish. Every character in the game is reported to be another player. The difference between this and a standard MMO appears to be server control as you will be dropped in with only dozens of players and not thousands. Bethesda is doing this to keep up the illusion of the apocalypse.
The game takes place in West Virginia as previously indicated. However unlike previous games, they plan on incorporating local lore into the game. The world will be broken down into six distinct areas and the map is four times larger than Fallout 4! That’s a lot of Wasteland! This time around the inhabitants of Vault 76 are only locked into the Vault for 25 years before being released on Reclamation Day to go out into the world and explore. This set up means that Fallout 76 takes place before every other game in the series. From what I can see in the trailer, the world hasn’t fully decayed yet giving the game a more vibrant look than past Fallout games. Fallout 76 will release on November 14th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
